Kiama Beach Cottage at Easts Beach was built in 1961.  It was one of the first properties to be built on the then new estate above Easts Beach to the south.  Today, it is one of just a few original cottages from that era.

The cottage was built on a level block, bounded to the north by an original ‘Kiama stone wall’.’

Taking advantage of the spectacular northerly aspect, the original owners included a sunroom across almost the full width of the house.  Today this space is the ‘hero’ space of the cottage – comfortably accommodating guests in summer and winter.

Other original features include the restored original kitchen, and the polished timber floors throughout the cottage.

In 1982, the then owners added brick facing to the front and side of the cottage, providing additional insulation, and closed in the front verandah, now a perfect storage space for guests to leave their beach and walking gear and coats.
